The Weekend Wrap

There's been a lot of tidbits of game show news going on throughout the past week or so, so I figured now would be a good time to kind create a little post of all the information. I've been posting a lot of the stuff on the Twitter account for this site as well.

This is typically the time when we see a lot of networks start announcing plans for the summer and casting notices start coming out.

  • As previously mentioned, NBC has cancelled both Ellen's Game of Games and Small Fortune.
  • ABC has cancelled Pooch Perfect and has put Millionaire on indefinite hiatus (It's not cancelled, but no plans for new episodes at this time).
  • The Chase, which is currently airing the remaining Season 2 episodes on Wednesday night, is currently casting for a Season 3. Rumor has it there could be a shakeup of the chasers, with the potential for a female chaser as well. ABC has apparently ordered a rather large episode order as well.
  • The $100,000 Pyramid is casting and will tape Season 6 in Los Angeles, instead of New York.
  • To Tell the Truth has already filmed Season 7, according to Anderson when he was on Celebrity Wheel. There is still at least 5 episodes remaining in Season 6.
  • Beat Shazam is currently casting for Season 5 with the new season set to tape in Ireland later this spring.
  • Name That Tune was scheduled to tape Season 2 back in November, but it's unknown whether it finished filming before Jane caught COVID.
  • About Last Night will premiere on HBO Max on February 10th. All 8 episodes will premiere at once in this celebrity themed re-imaging of the classic show Tattletales.
  • Wipeout is currently airing the remaining Season 1 episodes on Tuesday nights on TBS. The show has already been renewed for a second season (ninth overall).
  • Netflix has a new game show called Bullshit The Game Show that will be hosted by Howie Mandel. The show apparently has a million dollar top prize, as it set for a summer premiere.
As you can see, that's a lot of news, but there's still a lot of game shows from most of the networks that we have not heard about their futures. I may have missed something in this post as well, so as I always, I will update it when any new news may come out.
