FOX Summer Schedule Includes Long Delayed Shows

Shortly after ABC announced their summer schedule on Wednesday, FOX followed suit, giving premiere dates to some long delayed shows. Much like ABC's, there's came with a few surprises too.

Kicking off their summer schedule will be the long-delayed return of Mental Samurai. The Rob Lowe hosted show will kick off its second season on Tuesdays May 25th with a two hour premiere before settling into its normal time slot of 9/8c, the week after. A second season was commissioned last February but was unable to tape due to the pandemic. Apparently, the second season was filmed in Portugal so its possible it will include an audience and have a normal feel.

Beat Shazam will return for it's fourth season on June 3rd. The show filmed its entire season prior to the start of the pandemic last February, but was left off FOX's summer schedule last year. It seemed FOX was holding onto it in case they needed filler content mid-season, but that wasn't necessary and now it returns in it's usual summer slot.

Lego Masters also gets a summer run, and will lead-off the night on Tuesdays beginning June 1.

In some more interesting moves, FOX is breaking up the Gordon Ramsey shows, airing new seasons of MasterChef and Hell's Kitchen on separate nights. Hell's Kitchen is surprisingly getting a summer run. It's historic 20th season will premiere just one month after the Season 19 finale at the end of April. Hell's Kitchen bows on Mondays beginning 5/31 and MasterChef on Wednesdays beginning 6/2.

FOX also has a new baking competition called Crime Scene Kitchen, in which bakers will attempt to recreate a dessert using just clues and left over pieces of the dish. That will air after MasterChef on Wednesdays.

Noticeably missing from the summer schedule is MasterChef Junior, which I believe was finally able to tape it's most recent season and should be ready to go.

FOX already previously renewed I Can See Your Voice, which will likely air it's second season in the Fall, serving as the lead-out of Masked Singer.

Name That Tune has yet to be renewed, and Game of Talents is still in the middle of its first season.
