The Chase is On!

 

The Chase is on! The long awaited revival of the hit British show has finally been announced by ABC. Back in January, word got out that ABC was planning a revival of the hit show and that casting had already begun. Well, now all the details are finalized and the show has been given a series order.

As planned, Jeopardy GOAT champions James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings, and Brad Rutter are set to star in the series as the Chasers. Sara Hines, from The View, is set to host the show. 

The show sees contestants competing against the chasers in a series of general knowledge questions to win a cash prize. The show has previously aired on GSN in 2013 with Mark Labbett as the Chaser and Brooke Burns as host. The show ran for four season on GSN.

ABC has not yet announced when the series will air, but its getting nine episodes (three per chaser). I don't think ABC would peg this for the summer as they likely want to capitalize on the Jeopardy champions to help drive ratings. 

The show was already casting and the biggest hold up was getting Ken Jennings, as he was under contract with GSN for a different show. It wouldn't surprise me to see this sometime this winter/spring and could even be aired as a 9 day event style run, much like the Jeopardy GOAT tournament. We will have more but the show is already likely in the advance stages.
