Alex Trebek dies at age 80

My apologies that I was unable to get this news out yesterday, but undoubtedly, you have heard the news that Alex Trebek, longtime Jeopardy! host, has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. In March 2019, Mr. Trebek announced that he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The outlook wasn't good but Trebek was going to fight and fight her did. Despite the cancer, Trebek didn't miss a beat and continued to host Jeopardy!, even extending his contract through 2022.

Sony announced that new episodes of Jeopardy! with Alex Trebek will continue to air through December 25th. I would expect ratings to skyrocket over the coming weeks and folks tune in to see Alex's final days on Jeopardy!

Trebek was well respected around the industry, having won seven Daytime Emmy Awards and receiving the lifetime achievement award. He has also hosted over 8,000 episodes of Jeopardy, the most of any game show host ever.

We will have much more in the coming days and weeks as networks undoubtedly air tributes and specials to this game show legend. RIP Alex Trebek
