NBC Revives Weakest Link

Despite so much uncertainty and a lot of TV production shut down, the game show genre keeps rolling on. A casting notice has gone out for a revival of the popular British game show and short-lived NBC game show, Weakest Link. 

UPDATE: Variety was reporting today that NBC has officially picked up the revival for 13 episodes and it will be hosted by Jane Lynch. Production is expected to begin later this year. 

Not much is known about the revival besides that they are casting. No host or network has been associated with it yet. The original version ran on NBC for 83 episodes in the early 2000s and a syndicated version aired for a year and half.

ABC has been the big network for revivals but with so many game shows already on their schedule, its hard to see them adding this one, especially since they just brought back Millionaire, which is also a quiz show.

The casting notice does mention for NETWORK TV but that's about it.  I would expect things to move quickly with this too if there is a pickup. It's likely several networks are interested or there's even been a commitment from one, hence the casting, but just no formal announcement yet.
