US Adaptation of The Cube Now Casting

It might be finally happening. After years of hope and a couple of failed pilots, the US might finally be getting an adaptation of British game show The Cube.

A casting notice is now out looking for teams of two. Much like the Weakest Link announcement yesterday, we don't know anything about a host or even a network, but I assume this will be fast tracked like the other recent game show pickups.

The Cube was recently revived for ITV in London and is scheduled to tape in August so it's likely that the US adaptation could utilize the same set. Either way, if it is taped in the US, it will surely be without an audience. The show seems teams of two compete inside a cube to complete physical and mental challenges. It has similarities to Minute to Win It, but on a much more intense scale.

The game show industry will be one to watch over the coming months. Unscripted shows seem like they will have the easiest time getting back into production so networks may start stockpiling game shows in case they can't get there scripted stuff taped.

We will update this article once more information is known but this is exciting times in the world of game shows, and I expect we will see more pickups in the months ahead.
