College Bowl Renewed for Season 2

NBC has officially renewed College Bowl for a second season with Peyton and Cooper Manning expected to return. Capital One will continue to be the sponsor for second season as casting is already underway.

In the press release, NBC announced that former long time EP of Wheel and Jeopardy, Harry Friedman will EP/showrun the upcoming second season. Season 2 is expanding to 16 teams (up from the 12 in season 1) and promises to infuse new rounds of gameplay. The tournament will also expand to a five round format instead of the four (qualifier, quarters, semis and finals).

Capital One will again award $1 million in scholarships across the entire season, and the famous "Two Minute Drill" will return. At the end of the season, the top two schools will compete for the trophy and be awarded a scholarship prize.

Season One aired in summer 2022 with America's Got Talent as it's lead-in. The show average 0.39 demo and 2.4 million viewers in it's Tuesday timeslot.

No officially airdate has been set but it appears it will air sometime this summer. The application deadline is May 6 so we should be hearing about tape dates soon. NBC has been very hush about their summer shows with the exception of their normal summer staples like America's Got Talent and American Ninja Warrior.
