You Bet Your Life cleared in 98% of the country

The reboot of the classic game show has been been cleared in 98% of country and 190 markets across numerous station groups. The show will be distrubuted by Fox Television and premiere on September 13th.

In making the announcement, Stephen Brown, executive vice president of programming and development, Fox Television Stations and Fox First Run, said: “Our broadcast and advertising partners recognize what we do: America needs to laugh again. And there’s no one better to do that than Jay Leno.”

The new incarnation is reboot of the format made famous by Groucho Marx and will be hosted by Jay Leno. The game will consist of two strangers paired together for an opportunity to win money by answering questions from various categories and the show will preserve the humorous interviews and unpredictable banter. Kevin Eubanks will share hosting duties and Tom Werner will serve as executive producer.

A website for the show is live (www.youbetyourlife.com) but does not yet have any details on the exact stations it will air on. The first season will consist of 180 episodes and is expected to air double runs in the 5pm-8pm time frame. The show tapes in LA and according to the website, there was a link to be in the audience, but when you click on it, it re-directs you the contestant application. The show will tape from July 15 through October 8.
