ABC announces Summer Fun and Games

Today, ABC announced the schedule for their annual "Summer Fun & Games" and they switched it up quite a bit from last year.

Starting Sunday, May 31st, ABC will air season six (seventh overall) of Celebrity Family Feud at 8/7c, followed by the second season of Press Your Luck at 9/8c, and then finally season five of Match Game at 10/9c.

Last year, Wednesdays was the second Fun and Games day. This year, it will be Thursdays. Beginning May 21st, the second season of Holey Moley will air at 9/8c followed by the fifth season of To Tell the Truth at 10/9c.

Additionally, the celebrity filled reboot of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, will move to Thursdays at 8/7c beginning April 30th. Once Millioniare ends its run, Holey Moley will shift to the 8/7c hour on Thursdays, beginning June 11th.

Noticeably missing from the schedule is the second season of Card Sharks, the fifth season of The $100,000 Pyramid and the revival of Supermarket Sweep. All three of these shows have yet to tape their current seasons due to the virus outbreak. I am sure ABC hopes to get them taped and ready for the summer but there's no guarantee. ABC also has Don't taped and ready to go as well. My guess is that this will be announced later and be plugged in to a fill a gap if one of the other three shows is not ready in time.

Here is the full schedule:

Thursday, May 21st:
8/7c: Who Wants to be a Millionaire
9/8c: Holey Moley II: The Sequel
10/9: To Tell the Truth

Thursdays (beginning June 11th)
8/7c: Holey Moley II: The Sequel
9/8c: OPEN
10/9c: To Tell the Truth

Sundays (beginning May 31st)
8/7c: Celebrity Family Feud
9/8c: Press Your Luck
10/9c: Match Game

If you notice, most of these shows are starting a bit earlier than normal. This may mean they have are planned for a slightly longer run than expected. The press release mentioned 13 episodes for Holey Moley and an entirely new format (more on that later). To Tell the Truth typically averages 12-15 episodes per season. Press Your Luck appeared to have taped between 12-14 episodes and the remaining Match Game episodes (left over from last season) appears to be at least 8.

We will have more on Holey Moley and the rest of ABC's summer shows in the coming days so stay tuned.
